I originally planned to add in Harvest Hosts with my campground reviews, but quite honestly, these stays deserve a category of their own.

Why We Love Harvest Hosts

We are quickly learning that Harvest Hosts have become part of our road school curriculum.

Farms. Small businesses. Breweries. Wineries.

The boys have learned so much from every host we’ve stayed with, and everyone we’ve met has been unbelievably welcoming.

And I won’t admit how much time I spend planning our next Harvest Hosts stops.

Thankfully, they have an easy-to-use map where I can filter by our rig size and camping needs (currently 45+ feet and 30-amp electric hookups), making it simple to find places that work for us.

Part of Our Why

One of the biggest reasons we chose this journey was to give our boys more opportunities for real-world social interaction.

For my autistic son especially, we wanted to help build confidence in a way that felt natural. Traditional school and organized activities often came with anxiety—worrying about rules, what people thought of him, and the fear that one awkward interaction could affect long-term friendships. Bullying only made that harder.

Harvest Hosts has changed his life experiences.

Owners and staff take the time to talk with him. They allow him endless questions. They make him feel included.

With every stop, we can see his confidence growing.

I’ve teared up more than once watching it happen.

What Does Harvest Hosts Cost?

Harvest Hosts is surprisingly affordable.

Your annual membership includes overnight stays at thousands of participating locations across North America. While the stay itself is included, the expectation is that you support the host’s business—and honestly, that’s one of the best parts.

Our stock up list includes fresh farm products, local wines, CBD products, handmade goods, baked treats, and so much more.

Many hosts also offer additional nights for a very reasonable fee if you aren’t ready to leave. This is a favorite perk to us.

If I find any current promotions, I’ll share them here. The standard membership is around $100 per year, and through my affiliate link you’ll typically save at least 20%.
