Summary

We loved our time at Bee Happy Campground. It was beautifully simple. Some of the best starry nights we’ve witnessed. Being up high with a clear view was great. And better yet, the campground was set up so our kids could run and we could easily see where they were.

What We Loved

  • Convenient to Mammoth Cave and Nolin River
  • Peaceful setting surrounded by nature
  • Great base camp for exploring the Mammoth Cave/Brownsville area
  • The proximity of our site to the playground
  • The stars!!!

Things to Know

  • Very simple (but reflected in their pricing). No bathhouse, some sites do not have septic. No internet (but our wifi service was okay).
  • Bring supplies with you; shopping options are limited nearby. Dollar General is about 5 minutes, Walmart around 30.
  • No laundry on site. Probably about a 20 minute drive
  • There are long term residents here. They were friendly. But you could also tell they were watching who came in.
  • Our camper got very hot in the Kentucky summer. Pay attention to the direction your camper will face when booking.

Internet

📶 AT&T: 3/5

📶 Verizon: 2/5

📶 Campground WiFi: n/a

Your children will choose the playground over Roblex. We considered it a win.

Autism & Family Notes

  • Plenty of outdoor space
  • Nearby hiking opportunities
  • Natural environment with room to move
  • No security, public roads close

Lupus & Accessibility Notes

  • Not much shade
  • Easy walk around the campground, although not much to see

Final Thoughts

Simple and beautiful. We loved the simplicity. Ideal stay for us would be around 3 days (tank and dirty laundry capacity!)

Would we stay again? Yes.
