Summary

I wanted to love this campground. And honestly I did love the time here. I gave it a 4, as I do feel that is what it’ll be worth once their improvements are complete. It looks like there’s a lot of renovations going on, and I feel that the sites will be improved shortly.

They’ve recently created section F, which is part cabins/part pull through premium sites. We booked in F as an inquiry about their internet told us that the least internet traffic is on F.

Their pricing list on their website is out of date. Seeing ample availability, we booked one night to see what we thought before booking a week. When we asked for them to honor the weekly rate, they would not, stating they needed to take that rate off (and it’s still on their website a week later). When looking at rates, ensure you are looking on campspot, their own website had the incorrect pricing.

What We Loved

  • Convenient location near Greeter Falls
  • Easy access to hiking and waterfalls
  • Peaceful setting surrounded by nature
  • Great base camp for exploring the South Cumberland area
  • Family-friendly atmosphere
  • Fries at the snack shack were amazing

Things to Know

  • Check site sizes if you’re bringing a larger RV – we ended up having to move our travel trailer back a few feet to access the hookups, and because of a tree were not able to use our awning. We had two different sites (F84 and F85), and both had their challenges with hookups, awnings and slide outs (I’m thinking it may be part of their renovations to improve upon these sites)
  • Bring supplies with you; shopping options are limited nearby. Dollar General is about 5 minutes, Walmart around 30.
  • No laundry on site. There was a laundromat about 5 minutes away that had some 70’s nostalgia.

Autism & Family Notes

  • Plenty of outdoor space to explore
  • Nearby hiking opportunities
  • Natural environment with room to move
  • Good option for active kids
  • Most activities driving distance, although walkable
  • No security, public roads close

Lupus & Accessibility Notes

  • Lots of shade even without our awning
  • Distance to amenities: ___
  • Terrain around campground: flat, trees. Dog park in section F looked like a work in progress, but our dog still loved it

The campground itself may be accessible, but nearby waterfall hikes include stairs and uneven terrain.

Favorite Memory

This was a great reset for our family after a busy few weeks of travel! Hikes were easy to moderate. Lots to see. Most attraction had no fees for parking or admission.

Final Thoughts
